Rapha embrace Gore-Tex for full-on protection from downpours
It’s going to be a grim winter by all accounts, but that’s not going to bother you one bit now, because Rapha have just launched the answer to the worst weather conditions possible.
So good is the Rapha Gore-Tex collection that if this kit is unable to cope with it, you’re probably better off staying in and going on Zwift.
Rapha has utilised Gore-Tex’s most advanced fabrics for the collection, which comprises two jackets under the Pro Team banner and a looser jacket which sits under the more relaxed Explore collection.
The Pro Team jackets both incorporate Gore-Tex’s Shakedry shell, which is a double-layer fabric with the waterproof membrane on the outside, meaning water will permanently bead off. By doing away with the third layer which is prone to becoming waterlogged and inhibits breathability, the fabric remains totally breathable in even the most extreme weather conditions.
The second version of the Pro-Team Gore Tex jacket is lined with Polartec Alpha insulation, a lightweight synthetic insulation which was developed for US special forces and is highly insulating and quick-drying. The insulated version incorporates a hood manufactured from a stretch Gore-Tex fabric, and a stretch panel at the rear.
The Explore Gore-Tex pullover jacket is available in navy, black and wine with a quarter zip and large pocket to the front, with reflective Brevet bands to the sides. It is designed with a looser cut for more relaxed cycling and off-bike adventures. The jacket is made from Gore-Tex Active fabric and packs down into its integrated stuff sack.
Both jackets are available for men and women. Visit here for more details.
