Winter never looked so cool: BBUC debuts "Off-Season" jacket
Winter is a season of contradictions - a miserable time of the year which fosters the most comforting emotions, a time when it’s not exactly nice to be out in the cold but it does mean you get to wear all the cool stuff. And there’s plenty of it.
Layers upon layers when it comes to cycling, all supremely comfortable and mind-bogglingly technical, while being as light as a feather and highly wicking.
A decent winter jacket needs to look the nuts, which is where, let’s face it, many fall short.
Not BrilliBrilliant/Unicorn (BBUC). No nonsense black with stark white contrast graphics and a race fit. The BBUC “Off-Season” jacket is made from a fleece-backed Super Roubaix fabric, which is water resistant, windproof and highly moisture wicking while simultaneously regulating body temperature.
The BBUC “Off-Season” jacket a real head turner, particularly if you happen to be partial to some Virgil Abloh streetwear. BBUC have form here - in the summer they adapted the logos of a number of high-fashion brands as a cheeky nod to “over branding”.
These logos were a fundamental aspect of the best-selling ‘Copycat Collection’, two fictional team jerseys, branded up with adapted sponsor logos.
The “Off-Season” logo first appeared here, a rip-off of the Virgil Abloh “Off-White” brand, and like much of Abloh’s limited, overpriced clothing, this is one rare piece.
Fewer than 100 of the BBUC “Off-Season” jacket and matching bibshorts have been produced, making this collection something approaching unicorn shite in its rarity. That doesn’t make it any less capable, mind. This is cold weather clothing developed to withstand the sort of weather that comes off the foothills of the alps and is made from some of the most technically advanced fabric known to man.

BBUC is represented by Johnny Red PR, a sister brand of Paperbike.
